In 2016, the Afghan Society of Halifax successfully secured funding to implement kite-making workshops and kite-flying festivals in Halifax for the first time. The program was delivered successfully and received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public. Participants greatly enjoyed the activities, and for many, it was their first experience flying a kite in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Notably, a family traveled from Germany to participate in the kite-making workshops. The initiative fostered strong community engagement and meaningful cultural exchange.
